|
|
I've tried a few things I found through searching, but it always reverts back to DHCP at reboot...
The story is that I setup my new gentoo 'personal server', alongside my old RH one which had a static IP (192.168.1.2), and used DHCP as it was easier for install. I now want to assign it to the static IP. The gateway and DHCP server (NAT router) is 192.168.1.1.
I can get the IP changed to 192.168.1.2, but it reverts on a reboot, so what files do I need to edit??? |

I think the file you want is /etc/conf.d/net.
Just change the iface_eth0 and gatway setting. |
