question about SB1000 SB2000

I just got an outstanding deal on a sun blade 1000, which should be arriving next week.

In looking at the docs, it looks as if the 1000 uses the same motherboard as the 2000 .... ?

anyone know if this is the case?

if so, any reason that higher-speed CPU modules and such for the 2000 wont work in a 1000 ?

I've read that you can put the 1.2ghz procs into the sb1000. It's unsupported by sun but apparently it works just fine. Google for sun related forums they are the best source of info about sun stuff. There are all kinds of 'em that are full of long time sun users.

I'm curious to hear about your experience with gentoo on that sb1000. I like my Ultra 80 so much that I'm considering selling it and upgrading to an sb1000.
