Ever sense ive upgraded to 2.4.19, hdparm wont work and I cant do ultra dma.
bash-2.05a# hdparm -d1 /dev/hda
/dev/hda:
setting using_dma to 1 (on)
HDIO_SET_DMA failed: Operation not permitted
using_dma = 0 (off)
I tried it with the ac-sources and it worked, but then I coudlnt do the preemption and low latency stuffs.
anyone got it working in 2.4.19? running via kt400. |

It's actually a known compatability problem between the 2.4.19 kernel and your chipset (though some are calling it a bios bug, so maybe a bios update will help too.) The current workaround is to either use older gentoo-sources (2.4.19-gentoo-r7 should work) or use the ac-sources. Since it's a known problem that's fixed in the ac-sources, I'd imagine it'll be fixed when 2.4.20 comes out. _________________ "An empty head is not really empty; it is stuffed with rubbish.
