I've had the game working before but maybe since some package upgrade this is what I get now:
Code: | $ ufo2000
ufo2000: rawmidi.c:306: snd_rawmidi_open: Assertion `(inputp || outputp) && name' failed.
Shutting down Allegro due to signal #6
Aborted |
I installed another game depending on allegro too just to test, and that give similar results.
Code: | $ liquidwar
Starting Allegro (http://www.talula.demon.co.uk/allegro)
Allegro ID : Allegro 4.1.14 (WIP), Unix
Loading config options from "/home/gymdis/.liquidwarrc" - failed...
Installing timer (driver="Unix pthreads timers") - success!
Installing keyboard (driver="X-Windows keyboard") - success!
Installing mouse (driver="X-Windows mouse") - success!
liquidwar: rawmidi.c:306: snd_rawmidi_open: Assertion `(inputp || outputp) && name' failed.
Installing soundShutting down Allegro due to signal #6
Aborted |
I'm using vanilla-kernel 2.4.23 with ALSA. Tried installing Timidity++ because my soundcard Soundblaster 128 PCI (Ensoniq ES1371) lacks a midi synthesizer.. but, no success.
Ideas? |

Looks like you are using Allegro 4.1.14, it has a bug in ALSA support. Either stick with a stable version of Allegro 4.0.3 (but it does not support ALSA at all), or upgrade to 4.1.15 (just rename 'allegro-4.1.14.ebuild' to 'allegro-4.1.15.ebuild', do ebuild allegro-4.1.15.ebuild digest and then emerge ufo2000). A proper way to fix this problem is to use portage overlay or submit a bugreport asking to put Allegro 4.1.15 to portage though. |
