|
|
I've just recent migrated to Gentoo 1.4_rc1
When compiling mplayer, it goes without a hitch...except for dvd library inclusion. I've explicitly emerged libdvdnav and
libdvdread, and the mplayer config script still says none of them exist. If I run the mplayer ./configure manually it works
fine. What gives...it's almost like dvd support is excluded on purpose. Is there a use option that has to be set or something?? |

Thanks
Is there a way to restore the behaviour of 1.1 where (I believe) it automatically added all compiled libraries and things to use?
It'd be a pain to do this for every library I install... |

errrm ... I had this problem, which I am now rectifying, however, i had "dvd" in my USE variable when I emerged mplayer ... so I was puzzled as to why this fix will work, when setting it in /etc/make.conf doesn't ... what am I missing ??? |

There must be something else that wasn't right in your case. I had the USE="dvd" only in /etc/make.conf, and it did work as expected. |

Try checking the first few lines of the compile stage. A list of USE flags should be displayed. If the dvd flag is not one of them then you may have a syntax error in make.conf. |
