I've installed the base system onto an old HP machine that has been retired at the office, everything went well until trying to boot the new system. I'm fairly sure I have configured PALO with the correct parameters but I can't seem to get it to work. It prints the kernel and initrd names and then just seems to hang. What methods are there for debugging problems at this stage?

Did you by chance forget "VGA text console" in the kernel?

If not, when it hangs do you still hear/see activity? Or does it just appear frozen?
