I had problems with authentication that used to work before I tried to set up a virtual mail server (see quotation below). The point was that the user name with which I tried to login was not the sole unix user name any more but the e-mail address.

However, I still cannot connect to a virtual mailbox. IMAP-log gives the following message:

The directory permissions are as follows:

I already set the permissions of this directory and all subdirs to drwxrwxrwx - to no avail.
vmail is the user that postfix uses to deliver its mail. I couldn't figure out, which user courier-imap uses to get the data.
Anybody some clue?
