Ho un corso di Inglese (Tell Me More) e volevo provare a eseguirlo sotto Linux.
Mi hanno detto che Wine e buono ... voi quale mi consigliate a parte VMWare, sperando
(incrocio le dita) che il corso funzioni con l'emulatore ...

Attenzione a non fare confusione. wine ti permette di emulare i programmi win, mentre vmware o bochs emulano un pc nel senso che creano un disco virtuale dove poi dovrai installa win prima di fare andare i programmi.

Esatto , per quello ho detto "a parte VMWare" , non volevo installare windows, ma solo far "girare" il corso di Inglese .....  |

Cedega sarebbe winex non wine.
wine é in portage (emerge wine), mentre per winex c'é da pagare l'abbonamento.

CS funzionava fino a qualche giorno fa con la CVSwinex, poi l'ennesimo aggiornamento steam...

se volessi prendere la versione CVS di winex, come dovrei fare? non ho mai ben capito come funziona... da quel che ho letto/capito la versione CVS è free o sbaglio?

Come ha detto fedeliallalinea non è free. Si può gratuitamente scaricare e compilare una versione CVS di winex (cedega) ma il sorgente disponibile non è lo stesso che viene usato per compilare la versione binaria messa in vendita. Mancano alcune cosette: point2play e tecnologie per la protezione (SafeDisc ad esempio) per prime.
Esiste questo script che scarica e compila automaticamente CVSwinex:

Tempo fa esisteva un ebuild apposito ma dopo la sollecita da parte di Transgaming è stato eliminato.
