italic fonts in konq weirded

hi... I ran a little emerge -u world last night and got the new xfree amongst other things. This morning I restarted X and now I'm getting the following weird behavior in italic fonts in Konq.

I don't see this anyplace else but konq -- mozilla/galeon are both fine. any suggestions? I realize I am pretty light on details this time. ANy idea what would cause my italic fonts to go up-and-to-the-right like that?

I should just crawl into a hole and die. My Tahoma fonts, for some reason, exhibit this behavior, but it's certainly not every italic font. switching my default konq font to another font solved my problem. sorry for the overblown question.

There's another thread very recently about this. Seems to be a problem with Xfree 4.2.1.

I have the same problem, with xfree 4.2.1 and a lot of fonts.

Haven't done any real testing, but have seen this behavior.
