Hey all. I successfully installed gentoo on my G4 iBook this weekend with great results. I had a few small hang-ups but nothing that couldn't be solved by searching the forums (thanks to everyone who is so active because you indirectly solved many of my problems through helping others).
The one thing that is kind of my final hold-out and really a small issue is the light on the front of my iBook. That little light to the left of the hatch button for the screen (sleep light in OSX) is acting like a hard drive light. It just sits there blinking when the system is compiling and annoys me a bit. Is there any way to turn this off?

Yeah, it's an option when you compile the kernel. As i remember, it's an option under "Powermac IDE support" (or something like that).
It's the following option in your .config:
Code: | # CONFIG_BLK_DEV_IDE_PMAC_BLINK is not set |
