Using "emerge mozilla" I end up with 1.0. Also, is there any way to make the fonts look better in Mozilla? |

For the fonts in mozilla you should check this thread :

To get mozilla 1.1b you need to unmask it look at /usr/portage/profile/packages.mask
comment the line to make it available. |

That's /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask on my system. Just to help folks that don't know their way around. Wouldn't want that simple typo to keep them from getting to the right place.

Hehe, yeah; it also took me a while to figure out that I needed to comment out the lines like:
>=net-www/mozilla-1.0.2
>=net-www/mozilla-1.1-r1
The title under my name is accurate! |

I'm pretty sure that package.mask gets overwritten when you do an "emerge rsync," so you might experience some problems related to that. I believe that what I did to get 1.1 was just do Code: | emerge /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla/mozilla-1.1.ebuild | (that was off the top of my head, check to make sure that path actually exists), which merged in mozilla properly, and then I added the line Code: | =net-www/mozilla-1.1 | to /var/cache/edb/world.
So far that's worked perfectly for me, without touching the package.mask file. Occasionally you'll get some problems, like if you have Galeon emerged, when it get updated it might want to install an earlier Mozilla, and other things which rely on Mozilla. Be sure to use "emerge -p" to make sure you won't run into that problem . . . |
