power management for a ThinkPad T22 (and in general)

I've been running gentoo on my laptop for some time now, but one thing I haven't gotten figured out yet was power management

I have apmd installed, so I can see my battery info and whatnot, and the system seems to sleep properly.

What I would like, however, is know how to control the power management features. For example, disabling screen blanking and idle-sleeping, epecially when on AC power. If someone can shed some light on the subject, I would appreciate it, thanks.

You might want to emerge the 'tpctl' and play around with that.
