|
|
Hi,
when I look into /usr/portage/net-www/mozilla/ I see
Code: |
mozilla-1.1.ebuild
mozilla-1.1-r1.ebuild
...
|
First, I wonder what "r1" means: One step BEFORE or AFTER version 1.1?
Second: When mozilla.org annouces a new alpha or beta version how is that "alpha" or "beta" expressed in these terms of "r1", "r2", "r3"?
Thank You! |

After.

It's not. The -r1, -r2, etc are ebuild revision numbers. The upstream version is expressed to the left of the final '-'.
Perhaps you would be interested in the "Naming ebuild Files" section of http://gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-howto.xml. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

I've searched the forum but I haven't searched the how-tos...
Thank You, rac. |
