|
|
I am trying to install gentoo-dev-sources 2.6.7-r6. I built the kernel with ext3 support but when I boot with this kernel I get this error
Code: |
VFS: Cannot open root device "hdc3" or hdc3
Please append a correct "root" boot option
Kernel panic: VFS: Unable to mount root fs on hdc3
|
This works correctly in 2.6.5 however. Anybody have any ideas why this is happening?[/code] |

[*] Advanced partition selection
------------------
[*] PC BIOS (MSDOS partition tables) support
------------------
I had this problem too. You should enable an PC BIOS partition support in your kernel config, this helped me fine. |

I found my problem, it was that I modulized support for reiserfs instead of building it in to the kernel.
Now I am trying to get my nvidia drivers to work with kernel-2.6.7 err |

Thanks for the posts. I had to change the kernel to use PC-BIOS partition support as suggested by FunT. |
