Ok so I just did a stupid newbee thing
I was having problems with getting postfix and mutt setup and stupidly deleted /etc/init.d/domainname (I think I thought it was /etc/dnsdomainname or something)
Question is... how do I replace it? And for that matter, how do I replace any other system file I may accidentally delete without re-installing the entire os?

You could re-emerge the package it came from. The downside to this is finding out which package you want! I think you'll have to ask on the forum for someone to do a qpkg -f /<deleted package>...
BTW: in the case of /etc/init.d/domainname, the package in question is baselayout... _________________ No-one's more important than the earthworm. |

Depends on the file. If you know what it is you may be able to re-write it by hand.
Or re-emerge system or something.
Or be very careful about what you delete in the first place... _________________ My blog
