Donno if it has some kind of link with my gentoo but here is the problem :
I have an ADSL connection which goes down several times a day. When my modem is plugged on my Windows PC, I can immediately reconnect.
When my modem is plugged on my Gentoo PC, it is impossible to reconnect (whatever times I try) and I have to power off/on the modem.
What should it be due to ? |

Try doing (as root) /etc/init.d/net.eth0 restart (or whatever your network card is). This is assuming of course that the modem connects to a NIC.
If it connects via USB, sorry pal. _________________ Postcount ++ |

If you are using a 8029 card, replace it. Those cards have a problem with new ethernet devices for some reason. _________________ "Against stupidity, Gods themselves contend in vain" |
