Kann mir jemand helfen, wie ich den Fehler eingrenzen kann?
Ich habe eine SBLive5.1 und bin eigentlich nach Beschreibung vorgegangen, kriege aber meine Soundkarte nicht richtig installiert.
Wenn ich /etc/init.d/alsaound restart mache kommt folgendes:

* ALSA driver is not loaded.
* Initialising ALSA....
* Starting sound driver: snd-emu10k1 modprobe: Can't locate module snd-emu10k1 [ ok ]

sieht so aus:

- hattest du den alsa-driver NACH den neukompilieren des kernels emerged ?
- brauchst du alsa ? für sblive ist der kernel treiber sehr gut !

Äh, und wie siehts da mit der Audigy aus ??? funzt das da auch oder eher nicht ?

Audigy funzt mit den sblive-alsa-treibern problemlos. Zumindest mit meiner audigy player.

analog. spdif geht aber wohl auch, habs aber noch nicht getestet.

Ich bin zwar nicht der, den du fragst :wink: - aber ich möchte mich gerne einklinken...

Es stimmt, dass ich mit dem Kernel-Treiber .wav-Dateien abspielen kann; auch KDE begrüsst mich mit einer Geräuschkulisse :) Was sonst noch alles möglich ist, weiss ich nicht; bin Multimedia-Muffel. :)

Ich habe keine blasse Ahnung, wann man 'alsa' braucht und wann nicht. In den Alias-Definitionen für alsa schwirrt auch noch OSS/Free herum - auch da: null Ahnung, wozu das gut ist. Der alsa driver bezeichnet die Soundkarte als Audigy und hält sie für abwesend oder beschäftigt (busy).

Ich habe die alsa-driver nach der Kernel-Kompilation emerge'd. Den Text, der die Kompilation der alsa-driver besschreibt, finde ich sehr verwirrend. Haben diese Dinger ein _eigenes_ .configure-Script, oder geht es um die Konfiguration des Kernels?
