I try to configure and run NIS server, it compiles ok. But,
Code: |
/usr/lib/yp/ypinit -m
|
fails because it wants "/etc/publickey" file and I don't have. HOWTO does not say what that is or where I can get it. Does anybody know what that is and how can I get it? |

Try using gpg. The public key is for encryption so each installation needs its own.

I think your problem is that you are trying to share that file even though it doesn't exist. In the "all" variable in /etc/yp/Makefile make sure that "publickey" is behind a #. That way the server will not try to share it. |
