I have blackdown-jre-1.3.1-r7 working fine as a Mozilla plugin for the 1.2 system.
It is installed on this 1.4rc1 system.
Had it installed before Mozilla, then reinstalled it when it wasn't showing up.
also ran
java-config --set-system-vm=blackdown-jre-1.3.1
env-update
Everything seems to be fine, only plugger, flash and acrobat reader is showing up.
I heard someone say that it had to be Sun java now, but I find that hard to believe that
Blackdown won't work anymore. There has to be something else. Like I have to add
it as a Class or something, but didn't have to do that before.
I am going to wait until someone has some answers though, before I start doing anything else.
Seems that Java can get screwed up easily. |

I would like the add that the symlink to /opt/blackdown*/plugin/i386/mozilla/javaplugin_oji.so is there in the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins folder.
Even though Mozilla plugin page and Blackdown doc says that is the way to do it it isn't working. |

1.4rc1 is GCC 3.2, that JRE wont work with it. Do a search, you need to compile java from scratch unless theres an ebuild out for it _________________ Always standing, I am a tree awaiting the lightning. -Samael, Crown |
