funky kde 3.1 beta 2 problem after emerge

Now i know stuff that you unmask is technically not support but it's worth a try to see if anyone knows what's going on.

When i open KMail all my folder names are blank. First i tried creating a new folder "test" and that showed up blank also. I removed what i believe to have been the settings in ~.kde3/something/something/kmail and that didn't work. I also moved the Mail dir and that didn't work. I've checked every Kmail option i believe also. So does anyone have any idea's what could be going on?
