There are some funny things going around fter I compiled Xfree on new gentoo 1.4 There were no such problems on gentoo1.2.

I direct the startx's output to a log file.
When i start fluxbox i get these errors:

Warning: Failed to open catlog, using default messages.
Faild to load groupfile:
BScreen::BScreen: managing screen() using visual 0x21, depth 24
BImageControl::color: color parse error: ""
BImageControl::color: color parse error: ""

When i start KDE3
I get Lot of errors saying fcntl: Bad file descriptor, and some things about Mutex

Now about mozilla. I compiled it with gtk2
I cant copy paste inside mozilla. Even though I select partcular text and do copy paste, paste never gets hihghlighted
Nor can i copy and middle click paste from other applications to mozilla.

This works well with other applications
Also the cursor postion is either absent or stays at wrong place when I type. Right now its just abset, and sometimes... I cant type anything in mozilla...

In fluxbox... fluxconf segfaults. Gaim crashes if i close konqueror (weird...but this happens only if i say check mail with gaim..._)

Anyone has answers to these problems....I wish I have things as smooth as gentoo1.2

Most of the problems still remaining, but Mozilla problem solved by compiling it without gtk2...meaning USE="-gtk2"

Stopped using KDE, and switched to gnome. Much better. Had Problems with FAMopen.. but read some old post and it required me to start fam at boot time...

So now much better.. but still gaim crashes:(, fluxconf segfaults, and X-errror log is filled with gtk, gdk criticla warnings
