Banned from #gentoo

So i fire up X-Chat, join freenode, and step on over to #gentoo, check out what's going on, perhaps find out some new info. However, when I try to join, i get this funny message. It tells me:

Cannot join #gentoo (You are banned).

Now i'm really puzzled about this. I haven't been on the channel for 5 days, and i never remember activly doing anything that would get me banned. So am i really banned? And if so, how would i know?

Can anyone shed some light on this? Oh, and i can join #gentoo-user, and other channels on freenode just fine. Even tried another freenode server. Same thing.

Well, if you say you didn't do anything, then it's likely the work of someone else being abusive in your same general hostmask, and that someone getting themselves a very wide ban. Other than that, maybe you loaded up some script that spammed the entire network? :lol:

Yeah, i didn't do anything. Not a bit. Though it's possible, i suppose, that i did something unknowingly, spamming the channel or something bad...

But if i really am legitamately banned, i'd like to know why. Because in all honesty, i have no idea what i did, or may have done.

Is there any way i could find out?

Well i just got my buddy to check into it.

They've banned *!root@* yeah yeah, i know. i'm running as root, it's bad. but i was just testing. honest.

Anyways, no issue anymore i guess. Thanks anyways.
