I've got an Ultra2 Sparc that I'm trying to install Gentoo on. I'm currently stuck at stage 1 - bootstrapping. Everything up to that point went well, but at some point during the bootstrap it downloaded and attempted to compile automake, which failed during the configuration process with the message:
Code: |
Checking whether autoconf is installed... no
configure: error: Autoconf 2.58 or better is required.
Make sure it is installed or in your PATH.
and then the bootstrap dies. I checked and I can't see autoconf in either /bin or /usr/bin. Is this a bug? I'm using the 2004.1 universal CD for Sparc-64. _________________ ---
