Help printing to network printer (HP 4500N)

i need help printing to a network printer (HP 4500N) and gentoo is lacknig user-friendly printing support

i like redhat's printconf

For printing to hp jetdirect cards you'll use appsocket as the printing method. The printer supports postscript. so the rest of the setup should be pretty easy
