Boot into a gentoo livecd, then chroot over and emerge it again.

Bootsplash still doesn't work for me but I'm starting to doubt myself, I'll review all my files and settings tomorrow and see if I can get it to work after all. Maybe I screwed something up.

Should have a working bootsplash-entry in GRUB left tho, something like 2.6.3-love4. Let you know later how it goes.

Ahhh, finally a kernel, which I needed not to touch. :) Booted up nicely, let's see whether it survives the night...

got an odd bootsplash issue here.

It only gives me an 80x24 text area in one corner of my 1024x768 screen....

I've tried recompiling bootsplash and making a new initrd but still the same prob. In non-bootsplash framebuffer I get to use the whole screen though.

Oh, and I also have the hfsplus module problem back again. Something about PageActive.

Thats not much of an issue as I don't use my iPod or LaCie firewire drive on the PC very often though.

i get the same thing and it give a warning about an implicit decleration of PageActive, and it affects both hfs and hfsplus, and only in love3 and love4 (the only to love versions that i've used recently)

any idea?

edit: I check the source code and found that line 6235 is kinda messed up like this
Code:

        0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x00, 0x0^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@^@ etc....

edit: I've grab the nls_cp949.c from linux-2.6.5.tar.gz and overwrite it to the messed up source code and it works fine! Now I'm in love4~

Code:

Linux jay 2.6.6-rc3-love4 #1 Wed May 5 20:03:19 GMT 2004 i686 Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 1.70GHz GenuineIntel GNU/Linux

when will reiser4 be back? Or are we waiting for it to hit the mainstream?

Patchset looks great.

Reiser4 will be back when it hits -mm. In the meantime there is lokean-sources.

Having the same problem with this version as the last with compiling lirc_atiusb.o module.

Code:
mythtv linux # make
make[1]: `arch/i386/kernel/asm-offsets.s' is up to date.
  CHK     include/linux/compile.h
  CC [M]  drivers/char/lirc/lirc_atiusb.o
drivers/char/lirc/lirc_atiusb.c: In function `usb_remote_probe':
drivers/char/lirc/lirc_atiusb.c:374: error: structure has no member named `act_altsetting'

Hey , I'm getting good at this!

My personal challenge is to modifiy all my aliases for configuring , building, copying the new kernel and then updating grub before emerge love-sources finishes.

Me vs AthlonXP at 2.2Gigs and I won. Hey!

Seems like I change my kernel more often than my keks these days.

Anyway straight in update no probs here.:D Good to have you back Steel. Another nice patch set.

Now, are there any guides for setting up nvidia (GeForce4 Ti 4200) + love + xorg?

I just bought the card and would like to set it up without spending the next 3 nights trawling the forums. Have got far yet.

Any useful links appreciated.8)

Boot into a gentoo livecd, then chroot over and emerge it again.

This was weird, all I did was re-emerge the same ebuild and it worked properly. I am compiling right now.

Random unexplained compile errors can be a sign of bad memory. Probably worth a check.

If thats the case I recommend memtest86 followed by burnBX from the cpuburn suite.

This one always picked up the errors first when I was pushing my overclocking.

I was seeing this sort of error on big compilations like kde.

HTH.

Good patch, the name sucks though.
_Every_ love release means reboot time!
