I have postfix with squirrelmail setup. I can send mail with or without attachments alright, but I can only receive mail without attachments. Is there a setting to modify so I can receive attachments? _________________ Imposible is a word used far too often by humans |

What does you log file look like when you send an email w/ attachment?

I don't have a /var/log/mail.log file, but I do have a /var/log/mail directory containing various log files. Here is a part of one of them:

alright.
Which log file was that?
What are the other log file names in there?
Did this log contain the log of a message hitting the system that had an attachment?
If it did which lines were they?
Did you send the message w/attachment to yourself locally?
Did the messages w/attachment originate from outisde the system?
This isn't a forum to play coy on. More info is usually better.

Ok, I'm at school right now, so I canèt be 100% shure, but from what I can recall, the files were named by date and time, and this one is the one from this morning. The message w/attachment was sent using an external email(the one from my ISP) and the attachment was a 1k text file. From what I can tell of the log, all the lines with "timeout after DATA from" are errors lines, so the lines before them would be postfix receiving the message, and rejecting it afterward. The

lines would be from a message without attachment that was properly received by postfix. Again, this is a suppositions since I am new to postfix _________________ Imposible is a word used far too often by humans |

Most of that looks okay. When you get home I'd try the following.
1. Send a test message to yourself with an attachment.
a. watch the mail.log file using tail -f mail.log while you send it.
b. Does the mail get deleiverd or is there an error. If there is an error post it.
2. Assuming the mail is delivered check the spool.
a. Does the spool contain the attachment? If so it may be squirrelmail having a problem presenting it to you.
