when i play wolfenstein at school every few minutes the connection becomes very flaky. this would never happen at my house. my pings will quickly go from 60-70 to 999 and return shortly afterwards. I do not play the game in windows but do not experience similar lags under either OS when doing anything else on the internet (i.e. dling large files). anyone heard of this before?

UPDATE: i just tried an emerge --clean sync and the process consistantly fails after a few minutes. sometimes it says "reset by peer" sometimes i get other errors. most recently:
