|
|
Hallo!
i am using successfully (a few weeks for now) a SIL680 PCI IDE UDMA5 controller on a sparc based machine.
Machine: ULTRA5 @ 270mhz, PCI based
lspci output of the ide controller:
0000:02:03.0 RAID bus controller: CMD Technology Inc PCI0680 (rev 02)
I have TWO Maxtor 80gb drives attached to it (both master devices) and they works flawlessy at UDMA133 with no data corruption. My system is currently running on them....
I am NOT using the software raid of the controller. The performances are a few times better than using the uriginal Ultra5 IDE controller and the CPU usage is minimum (as expected).
So, is there an official gentoo sparc list of supported devices? if so, can this be added?
bye!
