|
everything went great but when i reboot, it loads grub and then goes straight to a grub command prompt. i want to be able to get past this and start using gentoo! if you can link me to a previous entry about this or help me out at all it would be greatly appreciated. thanks
and if it helps my HD is setup like in the install manual
/dev/hda1 = boot
/dev/hda2 = swap
/dev/hda3 = root
boot is ext2
root is reiserfs
im figuring that it cant boot the kernel or something |

Look in the install guide for the section on setting up GRUB's menu.lst, and, if needed, the links in http://forums.gentoo.org/faq.php#10. _________________ For every higher wall, there is a taller ladder |

at the console type | Code: | | configfile /boot/grub/menu.lst |
Oh and make sure the name of menu.lst is correct. The extension is L S T not 1 S T and not in caps. |
