External USB MP3 Player

Hello

I have a Diva MP3 Player and I can´t get it to work in Gentoo. In windows I just plugged it in and it went into USB MODE and all. No software needed.
But then I plug it in using linux it doesn´t go into USB MODE. It just starts playing the music, using the power from my computer.

This is what i have in my kernel
SCSI Disksupport
SCSI Generic Support
SCSI Tape Support
SCSI Emulation
SCSI CD-ROM Support
USB Mass Storage Support

And it still doesn´t work

Anyone have hade the same problem or is willing to help me? :cry:

Using kernel Gentoo-sources 2.4.19-r9

Hi

The Diva does work with Linux, but only with kernels earlier than 2.4.19-pre2. You may need to patch your kernel to a working version. I found the information on the Linux-USB 'Working Devices List', link below. Hope that helps.

Well i downgraded my kernel from 2.4.19-r9 to 2.4.19 and still it doesnt work, can anyone help me ? I dont have a clue what could be the problem here :oops:

2-4-19-pre-2 is 2.4.18 AFAIK. Try to downgrade it even more
