Just wondering if it's generally okay to delete the tarballs and stuff in /usr/portage/distfiles. I have only a few hundred meg left on my root partition, so I'd like to clear the ~2.1 GB of crap in there. I know it'll slow down portage, but I need the space. _________________ "Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."

It's generally okay if you don't think you'll need to re-emerge a program any time soon. If you think you might need to re-emerge a program many times (to change USE flags, for example), it might be best to leave them. But in general, yeah, it's okay.

Thanks. I couldn't really think of any other reason why I'd need them, but I just wanted to make sure.
Guess I'll just save those that I can't get easily. (winex, for instance.) _________________ "Families is where our nation finds hope, where wings take dream."
