I'm struggling to get X working properly on my PowerBook G4 800.

Can someone using a similar model machine post their working XF86Config file so I can try it out? Also - how was it created?

Cheers!

To aide in generating the XF86Config file on PPC, Gerk has written a cool little program. Do an "emerge xeasyconf" as root. Then run "Xeasyconf".

One thing I forgot to mention - as I warned Chickpea earlier, look out for the dvorak keyboard layout unless you have also partaken of that particular flavor of kool-aid.

If you don't use a dvorak keyboard layout, change the "dvorak" part to whatever layout is appropriate for your keyboard.

I sent an XF86Config to Chickpea once, and made the same warning to her. "Drinking the kool-aid" is a (somewhat gruesome and tasteless, but...) reference to the mass suicides of the People's Temple cult followers of Jim Jones - signifiying (usually tongue-in-cheek, with deliberate exaggeration) that one has adopted a non-mainstream viewpoint with something approaching religious fervor.

I do the dvorak thing too. The best thing about is that it made me learn to touch type. :)
