When i try to emerge gens2.12a, this error code appears:

about the svgalib, the version that was installed is 1.9.17-r3 and my kernel is 2.6.3-gentoo-r1

I am currently having the same problem as well- I recently did a reinstall of gentoo using the new 2004.1 stage 1 to get started.
Everything else has installed just fine, among things that have been installed: X, mozilla, xine-ui, xmms, zsnes, xfe, gaim...

Figured out the problem from the gens sourceforge site. Gens does not compile with gtk+ 2.40
Fixed it with
