What is the lifetime of threads on the Gentoo forums?

I'm just curious: Do the posts/threads here ever get labeled "old" and purged out? Or are my ramblings here in record for eternity? :wink:

There were some talk about moving old threads to a seperate database-forum, but I believe it was dropped. To my knowledge, threads live forever. You could try to take a look at the last pages of OTW.

Thanks for the links, tomk. Very interesting reading. I'm not a Comp. Sci. major, so I dont know anything about database management, but the threads gave me some insight into how a real world problem can look like. Oh, and just knowing how much effort and thought goes into maintaining these forums increases my admiration for the community a dozen fold.
