HP Omnibook XE3 crashing on KDE startup

Hello,

My laptop crashes on KDE startup, when it loads the window manager. After many trials, I have come to think that HP's APM handling is the problem. So I have tried ACPI alone, APM alone and even no power management at all. But it always crash here. Any KDE app just work fine with Fluxbox, I supsect the KDE power management to have problems with my laptop.

I'm emerging kde-base and kde-libs with '-apm' in my USE variable and I'll see wether it works better.

Any idea ?

I have found what's wrong !

In fact the problem lies in the alsa-driver ! Any action like using ogg123 will crash the whole system ...
