while waiting for them to go in the main portage tree if you feel aventurous :
get plib , SimGear and FlightGear ebuilds here:
https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=8167
put the plib ebuild in media-libs/plib, the simgear ebuild in dev-libs/SimGear and the flightgear ebuild in app-games/FlightGear
create the directories as needed (relative to /usr/portage or better /usr/portage.local but you'll have to check that PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/portage.local" is in your /etc/make.conf)
then emerge FlightGear and it should work. not sure it compile with gcc 3.2 though |

Are you sure?
The plib (-ebuild) header shows 'plib-1.4.2-r1.ebuild' but the depend section of simgear wants '>=media-libs/plib-1.6.0'.
Edit: Seems you just forgot to update header and version on bugzilla page.
After changing name and header plib-1.6.0 emerged without any problems.
But the rest is unclear to me: How should I name the flightgear ebuild? fgfs-base-0.8.0-r1.ebuild?
Seems to be wrong, dosn't work for me... |

you put the flightgear ebuild in app-games/FlightGear/FlightGear-0.8.0.ebuild
the simgear ebuild in dev-libs/SimGear/SimGear-0.2.0.ebuild
and for plib you figured yourself =)
I thought the bugzilla attachment keeped the name of the files but that's not the case...
the flightgear ebuild fetches flightgear and fsgs-base |
