i never got why people thought he was so good, i was almost old enough to have been into his music but who cared. punk had been around for decades its just that some pretty boy became a symbol for it, i also prefered hole and the foo fighters to nirvana anyway.

"It's better to burn out than to fade away" - Neil Young

(quoted in Kurt Cobain's suicide note IIRC)

Edit: BTW I'm not much of a Nirvana fan and I don't really care 8).

Actually, I do remember. Believe it or not, I had a little friend whose parents listened to Nirvana, and he seemed to like it too. I remember he made a little red box in the shape of a heart in preschool.

Anyway... Nirvana is awesome, as are Foo Fighters :P

Nirvana WERE awesome, they don't exist anymore.

It always strikes me as strange that the people who give a shit about his suicide (nowadays anyway) are the ones who were in the 0 - 10 age bracket when it happened.

C'mon, Nirvana was (and still is) the world's most overrated band (along with Pearl Jam).

what does "spitting to a camera" mean
my point = why are people insulting others here, especially in a thread about somebodys death.

agreed.. I still chuckle whenever someone mentions Nirvana as one of the best bands ever. Nirvana doesn't even hold a candle to the Foo Fighters.

blah and blah. I was in highschool and got to hear the stories about people committing suicide that day because of him. Yeah I listened to him but I wasn't a freak over it.

Well they've written good songs and well their sound was a little bit different. But they were just a rock band and I'm sorry he's dead in that way: he was young.

I assume you support the death penalty? Certain people are not worthy enough to live while others are? Suicides happen, they are a part of life that is difficult to accept but they still happen.

They sure as well weren't a _rock_ band... everyone know they were playing grunge. Nothing else. Rock is something awful old daddys are listening to...

I think grunge is a rock subgenre.
