Well I emerged CVS and tried to config it(via Webmin) and still I can't login to it, is there a quick and dirty way to get this up and going? I'm only going to use this in a local network setting for now. I'm running Gentoo 1.4 with KDE 3.03.

There are lots of people here willing to help you, but you have to give them something to go on. You've configured CVS and you can't login. What does that tell us? Are you using a CVS graphical client or command line? Is the CVS server on the same machine as you or somewhere else on the network? What is CVSROOT set to?
For starters, in a terminal window type the following and report back on what the output is:
$ echo $CVSROOT
Then tell us what you are typing to log into CVS, what response you EXPECT to get and finally what response you DO get.
