Hi!
How can I set default fb mode to "1024x768-75"? I know that it can be done without changes in LILO or GRUB, but how? Should I add fbset somewhere? but where to set all consoles?

see /usr/src/linux/Documentation/fb/framebuffer.txt on your local gentoo installation. unfortunately, the refreshspeed cant be configured already in grub or lilo, so you'll need to call fbset later in /etc/conf.d/local.start _________________ A mathematician is a machine for turning coffee into theorems. ~ Alfred Renyi (*1921 - †1970) |

If you use vesa driver you can add vga=773 for 1024x768 with 256 colors i believe refer to /usr/src/linux/Documentation/fb/vesafb.txt but i think it will use 60hz as the highest refresh rate. but you can try the long way video=vesa:024x768@75. add it in your menu.lst or append it in lilo.conf and i think modify either both files is the best way. |
