I'm not sure what this has to do with, but my dmesg is flooded with the following message:

IN from bad port 64 at c01f1c10

this appears about 100+ times, and I think things that should be printed out in dmesg before it are cut off becuase this takes up so much room. Anyone have any idea what this is? Here's the output:
Code:

darklich@darkbook hw2 $ dmesg

I think i8042 is the keyboard controller - the message right after those seems to indicate these failing in requests are part of the self test for it or something.

I'd suggest trying a different kernel version. This seems like a really strange problem because I imagine anyone testing that particular version has a i8042 compatable keyboard controller and should have seen the messages, unless there are other circumstances that trigger it.
