ok i'm trying to setup a ppp server so that someone might be able to dial into my machine and get onto my network, or so that i can provide free internet access to one of my friends who cant afford it, i've got an external modem that i've had setup in linux before, i've got it all setup and running i can dial out, but i dont know how i would go about setting up a ppp server for someone to connect to, any ideas?

You'll need mgetty emerged and added to /etc/inittab to handle the dial-in. Here's a good place to start with:
