mozilla-1.1-r1 will not compile with USE="gtk2"; it gets very upset about a "missing" glib-config (since gtk2 uses pkg-config instead).

Here is a relevant Mozilla bug:
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=156593

Here are some Mozilla patches that are supposed to tweak the initial conf to use pkg-config instead of glib-config:

http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=97286
http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=91932

I discovered these patches via an email exchange listed on Geocrawler.

They gave me some hope, but after an hour of fiddling I still could not get this to build ok. I need gtk1 for sylpheed anyhow; I have re-merged moz 1.1 without the gtk2 option.

I'm posting the info here in the hopes that someone can put together an updated ebuild.

Do you have both gtk1 and gtk2 installed, by chance? And watersb, did you have any traces of gtk1 on your system when you were having your problems?

This is probably it... I had removed all gtk1 from my machine before attempting this and running into problems.

So for now, you need to have gtk1 installed in order to ebuild mozilla, regardless of the USE="gtk2" setting.

This is only for configuration; I am almost certain it's not used at runtime.

Perhaps the ebuild should be updated?

And this should be fixed RSN, since there's an active Mozilla bug (but I did test by pulling from CVS when I was having this problem a few days ago, and CVS source did not fix things, so who knows...)
