"qpkg -d" shows me a gob of duplicate packages installed on my gentoo box. Whassup wid dat? Do I need to have dupes? I thought "emerge -u [package]" replaced the old package with the new. Not true? Why? Help please. |

Two suggestions.
- man emerge. Look for the clean option
- dict.org. Look for words like "with", "that" and "these"

No go Joe Blow. emerge clean doesn't dedupe it. Muss be sumthin else. |

Translation: Summin needz da dups.

try this:
emerge prune package
or
emerge -P package
that should remove the old version.
but make sure the duplicate is not needed! |
