has anyone got an ebuild for IBM's DB2 database ??.
the install is rpm based and i couldn't get past the first one but i did get it working using quick and dirty method of copying the /usr/IBMdb2 and /home/db2* directories from a redhat machine on to my gentoo install and created the users by hand making sure they had the same uid's and gid's etc..
this worked ok at first part has started to give me grief my losing its admin server
any ideas pointers info

I've got the install of the db2 rpm's working, but I've got another problem when i run the db2 setup program:
./db2inst: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++-libc6.1-1.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
I tried to symlink /usr/lib/gcc-lib/i686-pc-linux-gnu/3.2/libstdc++.so.5.0.0 in a desperate attempt to get it working, but that only gave me a segmentation fault.
Anyone know how or where to get the required libraries? _________________ Gekka |

Found it, but I encountered another problem when I used the how-to on http://kjeldahl.net/db2/ ..
I was using umask 0077 on my system, and the db2 setup failed severly no matter what options I chose in the setup dialog. Setting the umask back to 0022 did the trick. Just if anyone should wonder ;) _________________ Gekka |
