I am new to Gentoo and have just completed the installation.
I am trying to merge postfix and when I 'emerge postfix' I recieve the following error...
!!!! Error: The virtual/MTA package conflicts with this package and both can't be installed on the same system together
'emerge --pretend postfix' shows...
[ebuild N] CYRUS-SAL-......
[BLOCKS B] VIRTUAL/MTA (NET-MAIL-SSMTP)
[ebuild N] net-mail/postfix.....
Could anyone offer assistance in getting postfix installed?

To remove virtual/mta do the following
emerge unmerge net-mail/ssmtp
