| Is it possible to install a 32-bit Gentoo Linux operating system on a AMD 64 FX-51 processor. For instance put that on a hard drive and another 64-bit install on a second hard-drive. |

Yeh you can. I think you have to setup your CPU so thats its either in 64bit mode, or 64bit&32bit or just 32bit.
I don't really know how to do that i just know its available.
The new AMD 64bit processors are able to have 32bit programs running, thats why they are so special _________________ http://www.mooktakim.com

You don't have to change any setting in the CPU or the BIOS to be able to run a 32bit OS on AMD64.
On Startup the processor will behave just as any 32bit x86-processor until the OS switches it to 64bit-mode explicitly. A 32bit-OS just won't do this switching. |
