We'll i decided to restage my Blade 100. Wanted a newer foudation. Now i'm there unable to boot to due rootFS not found. I remember i had the exactly same problem with the previous installation, but at the time i managed to get around. Now i don't find that small little teaser...
The point is, during startup, though i have it as static part of the kernel, the ALI ODE driver doesn't trigger. No drives, that was one. And the opther one was about /dev and devfs...
Can somebody give me a hint ? |

Sounds like either your silo.conf is incorrect or /etc/fstab has yet to be properly configured (perhaps you overwrote it during the reinstall). Did you install using the LiveCD? If so, why don't you reboot using it, mount your root partition and chroot to it, then examine your /etc/fstab and silo.conf.
Also, verify you included both the ALI IDE code in your kernel along with /dev file system support and Automatically mount at boot (devfs).
Any additional information from your end would be helpful. |
