|

I've got two Ultra2 dual 300Mhz boxes...I've got one up and running (thanx everyone for the help)....it has 512M ram. The other one has a Gig RAM with 3d Creator card. The first one has the cgsix framebuffer.
I've used KDE on all my x86 boxes....
What do ya'll like on your sparcs (if/when you use a GUI).?
Any recommendations?
Thanx,

I have a variety on my pokey U5, but mostly to test things out and catch new updates automagically so I can test them out.
When not testing things out, I use Gnome, since I've used it for years and I am set in my ways. It runs fine (a little slow sometimes though) on the U5 (360mhz, 256 megs, onboard cheesy video). _________________ -Todd <todd@gentoo.org>

I like Enlightenment, but I tend to stick with KDE. It's not as fast as E but I'm happy with it. |

I'm sort of a minimalist. I use fvwm (fvwm2). Same reason as torradan:
I've used it for a long time, it runs on most anything, and it does what I
want. |

I find myself switching between Enlightenment and Gnome. Yesterday switched back to e0.16.6, it looks like this. |

- Sun SparcStation IPX running OpenBSD
- Sun SparcStation 20 with cg14 (very nice machine)
- Sun Netra T1 AC 200 (Very very nice machine )
And for window manager(s):
1. Fluxbox on slower machines
2. xfce4 on everything else |

IceWM, I like the speed, and I can alt-tab.
Also, it has nice anti-aliased fonts now, it looks great.
I leave transparent windows off on the Sun boxes due to slowness of the video cards, but on windows, i use multicolored windows. Aterm normally.
Guess i like less clutter with nice eye candy, Flux box would be 2nd choice. |

I use fluxbox normally, but due use KDE a bit as I keep it up to date on sparc. Also have a growing fondness for xfce4 as a midpoint between window manager and windowing environment. |
