mldonkey should be started as a deamon. Use the script
/etc/init.d/mldonkey start
To start it manually. Or do
rc-update add mldonkey default
To load mldonkey each time you boot.
When you have mldonkey running kmldonkey will probably work fine. |

The default login name is admin and the password is empty.
One things you should check is the allowed_ips list. This is a list of machines that are allowed to connect. You can find it in /home/p2p/.mldonkey/downloads.ini. Before you modify the file be sure to stop mldonkey
/etc/init.d/mldonkey stop
Then change the file and start mldonkey again. If you do not stop mldonkey first it will overwrite your changes when it shutdowns.
I just emerged kmldonkey and had a look at it (I used the web interface until now). It looks nice and it is more responsive then the webinterface. However I cannot find the source list you are talking about. You can configure the connection to mldonkey in the menu Settings -> Configure connection. |

Okay, I found the sources list. When this is empty there are no other clients online which have the file you want. You should give it some time (a few minutes) after you start a download to find some sources. However some files are hard to get so it can take sometime for impopular files.
Another problem could be that you have a low-id. This happens when access to you is blocked by a firewall. If you have a firewall you should forward the TCP ports 4662 and 4672 to your mldonkey machine. |
