Is there an app that can take a bunch of MP3s in batch and make the IDE tags match automagically?
When i try to change my id3 tags with id3tool, and then look at them with id3tool, they look ok, but iTunes doesn't always see the changes. why? _________________ Aim:gsfgf0 |

| I use EasyTag. It easily allows you to make ID3 tags consistant across many files. I found that out the hard way once and had to re-tag a bunch of files after I made the artist for all of them Beethoven. |

| KDE's new media player JuK started as a project for managing mp3 tags. So it has some cool tools. |

I've got the same problem. I guess iTunes doesn't support ID3v1 or ID3v2.
I use Juk quite often since this musicbrain feature is quite convenient. But I really hope that they'll do something to make it more accurate (you can't really use it for huge amount of mp3's, because it will suggest something like Britney Spears for about 30% of them).
Just for the record: I don't have any Spears mp3's on my hd _________________ I'm really wondering what Lovechild is doing nowadays... |

There's an option in iTunes to convert the id3 tags to a particular version (id3v1, id3v2.3, etc.). That has helped me in the past with weird id3 tag issues.
Having said that, I've edited id3 tags with EasyTag, transferred the mp3's to my iMac, and iTunes picks up the tags without problems.
Sometimes what has happened is that the iTunes library loses information. This seems to happen when I have a ridiculous number of mp3's in my iTunes library (~13000 songs, 62 GB at the moment). For example, recently I saw that for some reason the iTunes library lost the song titles for a number of albums. However, double clicking on the song brought the information back. So maybe the problem is not that the id3 tag is lost from the actual mp3 file, but that the information isn't making its way into the iTunes library database, which is another thing entirely. _________________ I'm only hanging out in OTW until I get rid of this stupid l33t ranking.....Crap.
